Vikings lose to Wilston Grange

On Saturday, 7th March, Wynnum's seniors and reserves suffered defeats to Wilston Grange's seniors and reserves. While the reserves were extremely competitive in going down by 4 points, the seniors were completely overwhelmed by a more determined side that showed the difference, in divisions, Wilston being a division above, in winning by 120 points.

The seniors were not helped by the fact that 4 players did not turn up, and without having any fit player on the bench after half time, were not afforded the luxuries that Wilston had of being able to spend time on the bench during this hot day. In the end, these factors played a massive part on the game, and Wynnum were not able to keep up with Wilston.

Adam Lewis and Luke Moriarty showed that they are very handy pickups in the forward line, taking marks at will. Our centre line toiled hard all day, and our backline were peppered all day, but due to the excellent delivery by the Wilston midfield, could do nothing to repel the majority of the attacks.

This Saturday, Wynnum take on Yeronga at home in their final practice game before the season starts the following week.

Make sure you are down there to support the Mighty Vikings. Reserves starts at 12 midday with the seniors starting at 2pm.
